Recording - Meggy's going back to Congo
Restaurand Exer, Zürich
Meggy - supported by an actress - tells the story of her life: her origin, her dreams, the reality in Switzerland and her everyday life now that she's planning her return.
Meggy was a law student in Kinshasa but had to leave the country after a demonstration and requested asylum in Switzerland. After a negative decision and numerous failed attempts to challenge this law, Meggy decided to returrn back to Democratic Republic of the Congo. She does not deserve to get brought back in handcuffs, she says. She want's to stop the constant attrition, lasting for eleven years, and is now planning her "voluntary" return. For the authorities Meggy is an example of a successful asylum policy.
